“This is one of my favorite stories I’ve covered in 20 years.”
ONE AT BAT: My campaign to get Adam Greenberg his, much deserved, at bat in the Major Leagues. While this is not my most current mission, it's a good example of the work I love to do. It was life changing for both Adam & myself. Adam just released an inspirational book called, "Get Up."
BLIND FAITH: This clip is from one of my latest missions and my first with Uninterrupted. I was raising awareness for an amazing charity organization called, the Chicago Lighthouse. First clip shows just how "awkward" this work can be and the second is a Call To Action designed for social media. Check out Uninterrupted.com for entire mission.
SECOND SHOT: This is a short clip from my Mr. Impossible series on Uninterrupted. I wanted to help a hockey fan retake a photo with her hockey hero which went wrong...13 years earlier. This mission was on the lighter side and was a ton of fun to make happen. Watch the rest of mission at Uninterrupted.com
CATCHING HELL- ESPN, 30 for 30: I was eager to help produce this film so I could defend fellow Cubs fan, Steve Bartman. Not only did the film exceed expectations, I believe it helped in swaying the court of public opinion in Bartman's favor.
“The film is accessible — and funny — enough to attract a wide aud, sports-minded or not.”
““This journalistically sound and well-organized documentary boasts the first on-camera interview with Ruiz since the days immediately following the marathon.””
1980 BOSTON MARATHON SCANDAL: Directing this film was very influential to my role as a "sports activist" today. I went on a 6-month quest to find Rosie Ruiz, the famous cheater who had been in hiding for 25 years. While I was eventually able to get her elusive interview, my most important experience was getting to become friends with Jacqueline Gareau, the true winner, who was deprived of "breaking the tape." I worked with the wonderful people at the Boston Athletic Assoc to bring her back to break the tape 25 years later. Filming her finally get that moment on the winners podium motivated me to to pursue my passion for helping others in sports.
““Matt Liston, who directed the episode.. wanted for the first time to tell the whole story...”
